This workshop is a full day of learning led by internationally recognized engineer, author and educator Joe Lstiburek of Building Science Corporation, and Sam Rashkin, National Director of EPA’s ENERGY STAR for Homes. This highly interactive and relevant day of education instructs architects, engineers and builders on the importance of design, construction and operation for the ultimate performance of homes in our high and dry climate of western Colorado.

Joseph Lstiburek, Ph.D., P.Eng., is a principal of Building Science Consulting LLC and an ASHRAE Fellow. He has twenty-five years of experience in design, construction, investigation, and building science research. Through the Department of Energy's Building America program, Dr. Lstiburek has forged partnerships with designers, builders, developers, materials suppliers and equipment manufacturers to build higher performance homes across the U.S.

Sam Rashkin, EPA, National Director of ENERGY STAR Homes, has managed ENERGY STAR Homes since its launch in October 1995. Under his leadership, ENERGY STAR for Homes has grown exponentially to more than 2,500 builder partners and over 330,000 labeled homes. He is now preparing to introduce a new EPA Indoor Air Quality label for the housing industry. During his twenty years as a licensed architect, he specialized in energy efficient design and completed over one hundred residential projects.
